STYLISH JESS BR Third Fastest In $1,202,700 Golden State Million Trials

LOS ALAMITOS, CA - OCTOBER 19, 2007 - It's been a good week at Los Alamitos for Benny Rosset's stable. Last Saturday night, Rosset's Strength In Numbers defeated some of the best older horses in the nation to win the $200,000 Los Alamitos Invitational Championship. On Friday night, his talented 2-year-old filly Stylish Jess Br posted one of the fastest qualifying times to the $1,202,700 Golden State Million Futurity on the way to recording her fourth win in a row.

The filly by FEATURE MR JESS, who sired last year's Golden State Million winner Jess You And I, was running at Los Alamitos for the first time since narrowly missing out a spot in the All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs. She sizzled in her return bow, as she lead every step of the way en route to a 3/4 length victory over Thinking First in a time of :19.58.

"She trained well and ran well at Ruidoso," said trainer Paul Jones. "She came back great after running there and she ran a good race tonight."

Stylish Jess Br's only loss in her career came in her first ever start. "She ran second and in my opinion she was unlucky to lose," added the trainer. "She should have won that one. She's the type of filly that loves distance. She had something like the 11th fastest time for the All American Futurity and you can see in these trials that she liked the extra 50 yards since her last start at Los Alamitos."

These ten fastest qualifiers will return in the Golden State Million finalist on November 2: My Lady First (Aceves, Rodrigo), 19.505; Fighter On Fire (Aceves, Rodrigo), 19.525; Stylish Jess Br (Jensen, Cody), 19.580; Early Morning Bite (Thompson, Samuel), 19.650; Really a First (Ramirez, Jr., Raul), 19.665; Carters Cartel (Ramirez, J.), 19.670; Eye for Corona (Sanchez, Ramon), 19.710; Thinking First (Ramirez, Jr., Raul), 19.715; Short Czech (Andrade, Juan), 19.725; and Jess Another Habit (DeAlba, Cesar), 19.760
