VRRROOM SHOWS IN GRADE 1 $342,431 TEXAS CLASSIC DERBY AT LONE STAR PARK

HorseGRAND PRAIRIE, TX — NOVEMBER 28, 2009 — Jim and Marilyn Helzer's VRRROOM finished a game third in the 17th running of the Grade 1, $342,431 Texas Classic Derby, for three-year-olds, over a fast track at Lone Star Park on Saturday night.

Saddled by C. Dwayne "Sleepy" Gilbreath and ridden by J.R. Valenzuela, VRRROOM dead-heated for the show spot in the grade 1 event behind world champion Stolis Winner and All American Futurity third place finisher Jess Zoomin.

The bay son of leading sire Shazoom pushed his career record to 4-4-2 from 14 lifetime starts while earning $142,943.

The grade 2 winner of the Harrah's Entertaiment Derby also won the Los Alamitos Million Invitational. He was a finalist in the Remington Park Derby(G1) and Ruidoso Futurity(G1).

VRRROOM is a full brother to multiple grade 1 winner and grade 1 sire Azoom. He will begin his stallion career at JEH Stallion Station's Texas Division in 2010.
