VRRROOM SECOND FASTEST QUALIFIER To $342,000 TEXAS CLASSIC DERBY

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX — NOVEMBER 13, 2009 — Jim and Marilyn Helzer's VRRROOM posted the second fastest qualifying time in the trials for the Grade 1, $342,000 Texas Classic Derby held Friday night at Lone Star Park.

The Texas Classic Derby will be run Saturday, Nov. 28 on closing day of Lone Star Park’s 2009 Fall Meeting of Champions.

Ridden by John Valenzuela, the colt by Shazoom finished second while running the 440-yard distance in :21.515 to earn a Speed Index of 97 in the first of the four trials run on Friday.

The stakes winning full brother to grade 1 sire Azoom was saddled by C Dwayne Gilbreath.

Multiple grade 1 stakes-placed Jess Zoomin was the fastest qualifier on the night with a :21.429 time.

VRRROOM is expected to begin his stallion career at JEH Stallion Station's Texas Division near Pilot Point, Texas in 2010. His fee will be $1,000.
