MISS SNOW ROYAL JUST MISSES TRACK RECORD IN EVANGELINE FUTURITY

OPELOUSAS, LA — NOVEMBER 14, 2009 — Carlos Bejarano's home-bred filly Miss Snow Royale easily defeated the field in Saturday's $79,700 Evangeline Dows Futurity.

Saddled by Joel Garza, the daughter of THIS SNOW IS ROYAL covered the 400 yards in :19.789 seconds, just missing the track record of 04/100th. John Hamilton got the riding call with the winner's purse at $39,850. She earned a 105 speed index.

The filly came in to the trials as the second fastest qualifier behind Acorn who finished second after getting brushed from both sides.

Also a home-bred, Acorn races for Rose Mary Chandler and was handled by Janet Van Bebber. Alfonso Lujan was aboard the filly to earn $14,346.

Sixes Wisdom was ¾ back for third. The colt races for Charles Forbes, Jr. Saddled by Frank Cavazos and ridden by Bobby Ransom, Sixes Wisdom picked up $7,970 for the effort.

Completing the field were Tf Miss Special Perry, Fame 555, Be My Corona, Leadin Starr, Shake Change, Market High and Insideman.
