JEH STALLIONS JOIN AVS EQUINE STALLION ROSTER IN FLORIDA
TALLAHASSEE, FL — SEPTEMBER 21, 2009 — Three JEH Stallions will move to AVS Equine Hospital near Tallahassee, Florida for the 2010 breeding season.
Grade 1 winner OKEY DOKEY FANTASY and grade 1 stakes-placed winners' FIRST DOWN MORN and GET DOWN PERRY will stand the 2010 season in Florida.
OKEY DOKEY FANTASY
OKEY DOKEY FANTASY won or placed in 16 of 20 lifetime starts included winning nine races (two grade 1's) as a two-year-old.
The son of champion and champion sire Okey Dokey Dale won the 2006 Ruidoso Futurity(G1), Manor Downs Futurity(G1), Longhorn Futurity(G2) and was second in the Southwest Juvenile Championship. He was also a finalist in the All American Futurity(G1).
At three he was a finalist in the Rainbow Derby(G1), Sunland Park Winter Derby(G2) and 6666 Ranch Handicap.
OKEY DOKEY FANTASY's second dam is the grade 3 stakes winning Moon Lark mare Fontana Beaujolais, a half-sister to Texas Classic Futurity(G1) winner Fast Debonair and the dam of grade 3 winner Royal Medallion and stakes winner Crazy About Corona, etc.
Owned by Jim and Marilyn Helzer, his first foals are yearlings of 2010. OKEY DOKEY FANTASY will stand for a 2010 fee of $1,200.
FIRST DOWN MORN
FIRST DOWN MORN won or place in seven of 14 starts with earnings of $190,829. He was third in the El Primero Del Ano Derby(G1) and a finalist in the Los Alamitos Two Million(G1), Ed Burke Million(G1), Governor's Cup Derby(G2) and Sgt Pepper Feature Handicap(G3).
The son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash hails from one of the industry strongest female lines. His dam is the sprinting stakes winning Thoroughbred mare Icy Morn ($380,668) who is also the dam of stakes winner Icy Lane-TB, Early Morning Bite and Slightly Icy.
FIRST DOWN MORN's second dam Frosty Straw-TB is a half-sister to grade 3 stakes winner Matching ($532,263), and Trippy Dip-TB, the dam of champions Florentine and Calyx.
FIRST DOWN MORN's first foals will arrive in 2010. He will stand for a fee of $1,200. He is the property of Jim and Marilyn Helzer.
GET DOWN PERRY
A son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry, GET DOWN PERRY won or place in 12 races with earnings of $159,677. He finished second in the Vessels Maturity(G1), Chicado V Handicap and Old Habits Handicap.
GET DOWN PERRY was a finalist in the Golden State Million Futurity(G1), Refrigerator Handicap(G1), Firecracker Futurity(G2), Sgt. Pepper Feature Handicap(G3) and Cypress Sophomore Handicap.
He is out of the champion three-year-old/three-year-old filly Royal Down Dash ($405,384), by First Down Dash. A multiple stakes producer, she is a full-sister to the dam of All American Futurity(G1) runner-up Take Off Jess ($380,087) and a half-sister to grade 1 winner Time For Royal Cash ($313,583).
