ALTILLO, MEX — SEPTEMBER 1, 2009 — Devil Ridge won the $315,000 est. Futurity Tecate Saltillo run Sunday at Canada Park in Saltillo, Mexico.
The son of FEATURE MR JESS out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Kisses So Fine was owned by Arnulfo Guajardo.
This is the third straight year a foal sired by FEATURE MR JESS has won the top futurity in Mexico.
Bred in Texas by Harold Chenault, Devil Ridge defeated Machine Gun McGurn by 3/4 of a length. He was purchased for $15,000 in the 2008 TQHA Yearling Sale at Sam Houston Race Park.
Time For Alleginace, a SOUTHERN CARTEL colt owned by Hnos Villarreal was a length back in third. Bred in New Mexico by Larry Hughes, he was an $18,000 Ruidoso Sale purchase.
