FORTUNE SIX HUNDRED SUPER IN ALL CANADIAN FUTURITY TRIALS AJAX, ONT — AUGUST 15, 2009 — Roger Girard's Fortune Six Hundred was a complete runaway in the $60,000-added All Canadian Futurity trials contested on Sunday afternoon at Ajax Downs. The ten top qualifiers from five trials heats will return on August 30th to contest the 350 yard final. Coming off a victory in the $63,000 Princess Stakes on August 2nd, the filly pushed her career record to 3-0-1 from five starts while pulling off a 2 ½ length trial win. Saddled Clinton Crawford and ridden by Tony R. Bennett, she stopped the clock in :17.780 seconds, 18/100th faster than her closest competitor. Bred in Texas by Robert and/or Cristal Sherrill, the sorrel miss out of Six Loops by Six Fortunes, has earned $33,301 this season. She is by leading first crop sire Fredericksburg. Making just his second career start for owner Ivy Lane Racing, Randy Coyote defeated Separate Cell by a nose in the final trial. The pair were awarded the second and third fastest clocking of :17.960. Randy Coyote was saddled by Tom Dunlap and ridden by Ed Walton. Bred in Texas by Genesis Reproduction, he is out of the Strawfly Special mare Tender Flyer. Separate Cell, who is also owned by Girard and handled by Crawford, is now 0-2-1 from three starts. The gelding finished second by a neck in this last outing, the $49,000 Maple Leaf Futurity on July 5th. William R. Peeples bred Separate Call in Oklahoma. Bennett was also in the saddle.
