CORONA FOR ME GETS FIRST STAKES WINNER

PILOT POINT, TX — JUNE 6, 2009 — JEH Stallion Station-Texas' grade 1 stakes-placed Corona For Me got his first stakes winner Saturday night when his two-year-old Gallant Corona won the $98,700 Indiana Heartland Juvenile Stakes at Indiana Downs.

The brown colt owned by Ignacio Soto picked up this third win in as many starts this season. Jockey Carter Riley rode Gallant Corona to 1 ¼ length in the 300 yard stakes for two-year-olds.

The 8-year-old son of leading sire Corona Cartel won or placed in eight of 16 career starts with earnings of $375,718. He won the 2003 Los Alamitos Million Futurity (G1) but was disqualified for interference and placed second. He was also a finalist in the Golden State Futurity (G1), Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) and Golden State Derby (G1).

He is out of the multiple stakes producing On A High mare JD Me Too, a full-sister to American Quarter Racing's World Champion See Me Do It, winner of the Champion of Champions an earner of $913,464.

In the breeding shed Corona For Me has two crops to race with 25 winners and earners of more than $400,000. He is also the sire of $500,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1) finalist Eyes On My Corona.

His first crop included multiple stakes finalist Reacorona, fourth in the West Texas Futurity (G1); Flaming Corona, Hobbs America Juvenile finalist; Shezrightonthemoney, Ford East Juvenile Challenge (G3) finalist; and Corona De Oro, Ed Burke Juvenile finalist.
