CORONA FOR ME TOP SALE SIRE IN BRAZIL
BRAZIL—MAY 27, 2009—Gianni Franco Samaja hosted the Haras Santo Angelo Sale in Brazil this past weekend, selling 46 yearlings.
The majority of them were sired by CORONA FOR ME. Horses averaged $35,000, and were purchased by buyers who traveled from Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay and Argentina.
A son of Corona Cartel, CORONA FOR ME is a Grade 1 placed earner of $375,718. On Friday he sired the eighth fastest qualifier to the $500,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1), when Eyes On My Corona won the fifth trial heat for owner Debra Gotovac. The gelding was purchased for $10,000 in the 2008 Eclipse Select Yearling Sale at Lone Star Park.
