KETEL WON DEFENDS CHAMPION AGED STALLION TITLE

AMARILLO, TX—FEBRUARY 10, 2009—KETEL WON, the defending Champion Aged Stallion of 2007 repeated those honors for 2008 on Tuesday when he was named to the title again

The son of Stoli who races for owner/breeder R.D. Hubbard won two of five starts while earning $226,960. Trained by Paul Jones, his biggest victory was the Zia Park Championship(G1). He also won the All American Gold Cup(G3) at Ruidoso Downs and was second in The Championship at Sunland Park(G1) and Lovington Handicap(G2). His only off the board finish was fourth in the Refrigerator Handicap(G1) at Lone Star Park.

Ketel Won, who began his stud career at JEH Stallion Station-New Mexico in 2009, has won or placed in 15 of 19 career starts and earned $651,740. The three-time champion is a multiple grade 1 winner.

Out of Sixy Lady by Streakin Six, he was ridden by Ramon Sanchez and Cody Jensen.
