TEXAS HORSE INDUSTRY IN CRISIS
To our valued Texas horsemen:
2009 will be a pivotal year for the Texas horse industry and Texas HORSE needs your support of an initiative to provide a new revenue stream for showing, racing, equine research, adoption and retirement facilities for Texas-bred horses.
The Texas HORSE Tradition Preservation Act supports the effort to keep Texas horses, Texas jobs, and Texas tax dollars in Texas where they belong.
Texas HORSE-Horse Organizations for Racing, Showing and Eventing - is a coalition of major Texas horse organizations proposing an important legislative bill designed to support all facets of the horse industry. A portion of the monies generated from placing Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) at horse racing tracks already licensed in Texas will flow to the Performance Horse Development Fund benefiting non-racehorses. All Texas HORSE affiliates will share in this fund which will benefit horses statewide.
