THREE PAST SIX TOPS SUNLAND WINTER DERBY TRIALS SUNLAND PARK, NM—DECEMBER 13, 2008—R.D. Hubbard and Dennis Monroe's Three Past Six picked up her second victory in four starts this season while posting the fastest time for the Sunland Park Winter Derby trials contested on Saturday. A grade 1 stakes placed trainee for Paul Jones, Three Past Six got up in the final stride to defeat As Takin First by a neck while running the 400 yards in :19.035 seconds. The TRES SEIS filly was ridden by Kenny Muntz. Third place finisher in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1) last season, Three Past Six returned to the races in September after more than a year rest. She won her 3-year-old Hobbs America Derby(G2) trial before returning in the final to finish second behind Noconi. Her trial win today pushed her career earnings to more than $102,000 with a 3-3-1 record from seven lifetime starts. FEATURE MR JESS sired the seventh and tenth fastest qualifiers. Rosa Barroteran's Featurel was the seventh fastest qualifier. Bred by 984428 Ontario Limited, the colt is trained by Alonso Orozco and ridden by Esgar Ramirez. Dr Proctor owned by F.H. Draper, E.L. Criswell and D.J. Casson was the final qualifier. Trained by Carl Draper the stakes winning FEATURE MR JESS is ridden by Bonifacio Perez.
