MASTER LINK WINS $100,000 LOUISIANA CHAMPIONS DAY LASSIE

PhotoNEW ORLEANS, LA—DECEMBER 15, 2008—Master Link, a daughter of leading 2-year-old sire DANCE MASTER went gate-to-wire in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Lassie Stakes at the Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Ridden by Robby Albarado she defeated the favorite Warrior Maid in the six-furlong event by 2-1/2 lengths. She covered the distance in 1:11.70 seconds. Lightlightlight finished third, a neck farther back.

"She's an exceptionally fast filly," said Albarado of Master Link. "She put herself where I anticipated her to be. When I squeezed on her a little bit, she just took off."

Racing for Danny Bockmon and Tim Hutcherson, the dark bay filly is trained by Morris G. Nicks.
