FEATURE MR JESS SIRES 1, 3 FINISHERS IN RAINBOW JUVENILE
RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM — JULY 20, 2008 — Offspring by FEATURE MR JESS finished first and third in the $18,400 Rainbow Quarter Horse Juvenile Stakes on Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.
Buildmhigh, a colt out of Grade 1 winner and Champion producer Okeydokey Baby, chose the stakes to break his maiden. Racing for David Barrett and Keilani Farms, the sorrel colt covered the 350 yards in :19.788 seconds.
Trained by Paul Jones, Buildemhigh came into the race off a second place effort in the Rainbow Futurity trials on July 3. Ramon Sanchez was on board the colt bred by Jim & Marilyn Helzer. He earned the winner's purse of $11,040 for his effort.
Feature The Beat, a homebred filly out of the LEAVING MEMORIES mare Andthebeatgoeson, was third in the stakes. Racing for Terry Wood and trained by Jimmie Claridge, Feature The Beat has lit the board in all four of her career starts.
