DR PROCTOR WINS RUIDOSO'S HIGHEASTERJET HANDICAP (G3)
RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 5, 2008—Dr Proctor, a 3-year-old gelding racing for Fredda Draper, Elmer Criswell and Diane Casson, held to win the $40,000 Higheasterjet Handicap (G3) by a neck on Saturday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.
Trained by Carl Draper, Dr Proctor is by FEATURE MR JESS out of the Special Effort mare Daring Deception and was bred in Texas by Joe Kirk Fulton.
Ridden by Bonifacio Perez, Dr. Proctor picked up the winner check worth $24,000 while covering the 350 yards in :17.361 seconds.
Heavenly Trip, a four-year-old filly owned by Ray Herring and trained by Roy Marcom, Jr. was second. Freddie Martinez was aboard.
David Reeder's Call It Anywhere was another neck back in third. Trained by Michael Jointer he was ridden by Alex Baldillez.
All American Derby winner Arealstraitheart was steadied in the stretch and finished ninth in the 10 horse field.
